An enjoyable time attending a craft workshop making a willow lantern. Organised by Friends of Whitkirk Primary School. The volunteers were friendly and welcoming. The community centre is a large, modern space. There's a kitchen area, for hot and cold drinks, and light refreshments. Toilets. Free parking onsite. Easy access just off Selby Road.

Highly recommend Whitkirk Community Centre for a wedding. The venue is in very good condition, it's clean and it's well managed. You wouldn't know that it's all run by volunteers. The outdoor space is lovely. We checked out most of the similar spaces in East Leeds and it really is the best community/church hall. The bar is good value and you can either self-cater or choose your own external caterer which saves thousands compared to traditional wedding venues/hotels where you pay for the space and a hefty price her head for food/drink on top. We used a caterer and then supplemented the main dishes with some homemade and shop-bought extras. We decorated the hall ourselves but some people pay to have the space decorated. We don't regret for a second choosing this venue for our wedding!
We hired the hall for our wedding. Carol and the volunteers were amazing - they worked so hard to give us a lovely day. Good seating capacity and good lighting. The bar seems reasonably priced. The kitchen wasn't quite equipped for full catering but our caterer brought her own oven. Would recommend to anyone wanting a party, the prices were excellent.
Had our grandaughters birthday party here. You have to supply your own food and drknk and entertainment but the kitchen facilities you can use are brilliant and they have lits of fold away tables and chairs. Very clean all over really had a good day couldnt fault the place. Also toilets on site very clean and lots of parking outside.
