Charcoal Chicken Steak House

I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time, but the service here has gone downhill dramatically over the past few orders. We usually order several whole chickens at a time, and far too often we run into the same issues: missing half-chickens, soggy fries, the wrong number of sauce pots, missing salads, burnt chicken —always something wrong! At this point, I’m genuinely fed up. It’s frustrating to spend hard-earned money only to be met with careless mistakes and poor quality. What makes it worse is the customer service. Whenever we order over the phone, the staff are rude, dismissive, and seem completely uninterested in what the customer actually wants. It’s clear they don’t value the people who keep their business running. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. They seriously need to reassess their standards and overall business approach if they want to keep long-term customers. Fix up please, it’s embarrassing.

I'm foodie and I love to try varied food items at different places. I moved to Leeds around 10 months ago and have tried food from many places across the city. Not once have I ever thrown food away. But the meal I ordered here (half grilled chicken and steak with chips) made me do it for the first time in my life. The steak was extremely rubbery and unpleasant, and the chicken was burnt beyond acceptable levels. I had grilled chicken countless times, both in Leeds and back home, but never experienced anything like this. After just two bites of the chicken, I genuinely felt like to "puke"🤮 what I had. As for the steak, I’m not even sure how to describe the taste; “gross”🤢 is probably the closest word. Honestly, it feels like they don’t even know how to cook. In the food industry—whether it’s ready‑to‑eat, restaurant dining, or even frozen meals—taste is the most fundamental expectation. Unfortunately, the food from this restaurant completely lacks that basic, essential quality. No hard feelings, just a genuine review to make things better.

1 star WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Ordered through Deliveroo - food NEVER arrived. Waited over 2 hours while starving. They had the audacity to claim they left it on the street 45 minutes earlier with no phone call - absolute lies. Their phone number doesn’t even work. Deliveroo customer service was a complete joke, just passed me around while I got robbed of my money. This place is a scam. They steal your money and don’t deliver. Should be shut down. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE unless you want to waste your money and go hungry. Disgusting, unprofessional thieves.

Popped in yesterday and quite impressed with my meal. I went for the beef steak with rice, chips and side salad – the steak was cooked just right, juicy and full of flavour, and the chips were nice too, I tried their brown rice which woz fresh and actually went well with the meal the food was delicious and a perfect little extra with the rice, everything was fresh, well-prepared and really hit the spot. Will definitely be coming back soon!
