Visited last night for the festive menu, party of 10. We’ve been many times before and the food has been good, but on this occasion the starter and dessert were ok but the main course, which was turkey was so dry that everyone left theirs. The meal had been pre-ordered from the Christmas menu, so I imagine the food was prepared earlier. I mentioned the turkey being dry to one of the waiters, but he made no comment. He didn’t even offer a good will gesture at the end of the night. Having paid over £200 for the 5 of us, which included a bottle of wine, which was like vinegar, I was not very happy as you can imagine. I don’t like complaining when we are in a group together so I’m afraid we will go somewhere else next time.
The food was delicious. I ordered Bruschetta and it was very nice. I then had chicken and mushroom risotto and a rocket salad. They were both really yummy and I would definitely recommend it and order it again.
We have come here for family celebrations since it first opened in crossgates, it’s never disappointed and we have never had a bad meal or bad service. The staff are always so friendly, it’s a cosy atmosphere and the food has always been 10/10. They make it feel comfortable and special and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Great Italian cuisine. Delicious pizza calzone, great wine, excellent service despite not having booked in advance and coming with two small children, and also atmospheric music. I recommend it to anyone who visits the area
Our first experience dining here was delightful! Every step of the way ; booking and the end of the meal was perfected by the personable service from every single member of staff including the owner! Took my mother in law for her birthday and they even prepared a birthday sign on the wall, good wine and delicious , very generous portion of food! So well done and thank you for everything! Have no doubt recommending La Cantina! Thank you again! We'll definitely return.
