Amazing new forecourt to the area, the new pumps are fast and efficient keeping the traffic moving. Shop is well stocked and the staff are polite and friendly couldn’t ask for a more extensive food and drink range. Look forward to visiting every time I’m in the area.

Whinmoor Service Station offers the basic amenities you would expect from a local fuel stop, but unfortunately, my experience there was far from positive. While it provides petrol and diesel pumps alongside a small convenience store, the overall atmosphere and service leave much to be desired. The most noticeable issue is the attitude of the staff. On multiple visits, I encountered unhelpful and frankly rude behaviour at the counter. Simple queries were met with curt responses or dismissive gestures, and there was a clear lack of customer care or friendliness. It gives the impression that customer satisfaction is not a priority, which makes for an uncomfortable experience when all you want is a quick, straightforward transaction. In addition to poor service, the pricing of items inside the shop is noticeably inflated. While it’s common for service station stores to have slightly higher prices than supermarkets, the mark-up here feels excessive, even for basic essentials like drinks, snacks, and car care products. For example, items like bottled water and confectionery were almost double the price you would pay elsewhere. The limited selection and outdated stock in some sections only add to the frustration. The forecourt itself is functional, with working pumps and basic cleaning facilities, but nothing sets it apart in terms of convenience or cleanliness. Coupled with high shop prices and unwelcoming staff, there is little incentive to return when friendlier, better-priced alternatives are available nearby. Overall, Whinmoor Service Station fails to provide a pleasant or good-value experience, and I would not recommend it.

Always a friendly face behind the counter with a smile and willing to help, the shop is well maintained with plenty of produce on sale. The petrol pumps are always easy to access. The ATM at the side has always been fully functional when I've visited. The forecourt is never cluttered with debris.

Typically, this is one of the most affordable fuel stations in the area. Surrounded by competitors like Tesco Garage, it manages to stay within a competitive price range, often just a few pence difference. I think that paying slightly more for higher-quality fuel is worthwhile. During my regular visits, I've consistently encountered friendly staff, and have noted the garage to be very clean and well-maintained. A security guard is always present at the entrance, offering a friendly greeting upon arrival. Given the minimal price difference compared to Tesco, I always opt to refuel here.
