Supportive place, staff doing a thankless job, manage to keep everyone safe. This hotel will one day be a hotel again, but for now it is supporting people fleeing war, natural distasters, poverty. Thankyou to the staff working here, both in the building and on security. I walk past here everyday, as a female and have never felt unsafe.
Great piece of local history which I'd give it 5*. Shame it got turned into an asylum holding centre. This used to be a top notch hotel now locals fear to go anywhere near it, especially the subways at the side of it. I do a lot for local history of the area, running Leeds history groups. Take it from me from most of the stories I've personally heard it's a place to avoid. From over 330 reviews I've done on Google this is only the 4th 1* rating. Now that tells a story.
