Sat 13th Dec 7.40pm, I was in the changing room and I asked the young male asian Assistant that I needed a size up in my yoga top and pants (i’d previously seen lots of the size that I needed available on the shop floor). I took them off and my daughter passed them to him as he requested them to scan the barcode. My daughter overheard a blonde young Female assistant advising him “ It’s closing time, so dont bother and just tell them ….”. The rest of the conversation was in inaudible. Regardless, I waited over 10 minutes with no clothing on in my changing room in the cold. Then my daughter went to ask why they’ve not come back with the size as there are plenty on the shop floor which we’d seen earlier. The young male assistant who was at the entrance of the changing room said “ I couldn’t find it and it’s closing time”, after I had waited a whole 10 minutes already. I peaked up my head and I asked why nobody has come back with anything or even an explanation. Another lady Assistant wearing a plaid red shirt joined him and she was rudely sighing and tutting as she said it’s closing time. I explained that I’ve been waiting in the cold with no explanation and that I was not happy. She asked me not to talk to the staff about their wrongdoings and that it was closing time. She refused to listen to a word I was saying. I asked her If I could speak to the manager, but instead she called the security guard! I was completely taken aback by her rudeness and lack of customer service. Then when I went to the cash desk, I spoke to a red/ginger haired Assistant and a black female assistant, both were extremely apologetic and polite when I explained to them what happened. It was past 8pm and still the manager had not turned up as I was leaving. I mentioned this to the plaid shirt Assistant as I left the shop and again, I was spoken back by her very rudely. She contacted her manager again and I overheard the manager saying to her over the walkie-talkie, “ Is she still there?” Seriously guys, train your staff with customer service skills. I understand you all want to go home and you’d rather no customers come into the shop in the last half an hour before closing time, but you’re doing a paid job. And customers can’t be dismissed rudely in the way that you did. And the young blonde lady who told the male changing room assistant to fob off the customer without even checking for the size, clearly you shouldn’t be working there
I like H&M and have visited many of their stores but I really disliked this branch on the ground floor of Trinity Shopping Centre. It was dark and dingy, a really weird layout and not tidy at all. I think the last time I got lost in a shop I was probably about 12 but I genuinely got thoroughly confused in this store and wandered around for ages searching for the exit. No staff around other than on the till; I resorted to walking around with the window wall on my left until I eventually found an exit.🤷♀️ Would not go back to that branch.
Two out of five for H&M for their accessibility changing room, red cord was tied up and even when I untied it, it didn't reach the floor. Not many grab handles, but had plenty of room for me and the wheelchair.
h and m have some lovely pieces sometimes, however it can be a hit and miss (as is with most shops), and prices are often high. i would generally recommend trying on in store before buying as i have bought some items that have gone too small/big on me when i haven’t.
The customer service is excellent. There is a good selection of clothes, bags shoes and accessories for men, women and children. The prices are low to mid range. Very on trend.
