Weldricks Pharmacy - Maltby High Street

The staff on the whole have been good and polite in store but you do get a few rude ones on the phone. Yesterday’s call went too far for me.. I was trying to sort out my wife’s repeat dispensing and the phone call was on loud speaker. I am a carer for my wife and she is partially deaf and has a speech impediment. Many previous calls they have failed to understand her due to myotonic dystrophy conditions that go with the illness. She was telling me what she was missing and all I got from the receptionist was that she had better not come at her with an attitude. I explained to the call handler that she was disabled. Her response was she had a disabled son and would never speak to anyone like that. I was shocked and my wife was in panic to get her medication sorted out as she has been without depression medication for some days due to moving house. The weldricks at our new place were calm and worked hard to sort this problem. 1st of all not all disabilities are the same. They affect others differently. I was shocked and I’m going to discuss this with the branch manager or regional manager or whoever is in charge of customer services as it attended myself and caused me anxiety. There’s always something not able to collect on the day of your prescription being ready and I’ve had this 20+ times since collecting from here, and I’ve always had to call the doctors to get her repeat prescriptions authorised by release from the doctors even though they are on repeat.

General staff are good. African male head pharmacist was quite rude to my elderly mother though and upset her!
