It’s not the biggest Sainsbury’s store but it generally has a good range of produce with lots of fresh fruit and veg. There are usually Aldi matched items on offer. There’s a good size carpark on 2 sides of the store and easy access into the store. Visiting today I noticed that there are updates in progress with some sections empty but apparently new chill cabinets; there’s also a large section at the back of the store which I seem to remember having fresh fish etc but is now blanked off with some reference to hot food. The store looked rather unkempt when I visited today (Monday late afternoon) with lots of cages of products and empty packaging around. Staff are pleasant and polite.

Plenty of stock. Large parking spaces. No locks on trolleys. Self checkouts optional. Great staff, all very friendly. Fair prices. Nectar points. Discount vouchers sent through post and printed at the till. Good value garden plants. These are just a few the reasons why I do most of my shopping here.

I ordered a click and collect Norfolk black turkey from Sainsbury’s. , I’ve just returned home. My wife has hit the roof as the turkey that I paid for is supposed to feed 8 to 10 people, more likely 4 to 6 people. The store blame Asda who organise click and collect so I ring the number on the order, I’m told to ring the store, the store can’t do anything because they don’t stock the item, Sainsbury another large company using their name to out sell items without experience and knowledge, result bad atmosphere in the house, will probably kick off again on Christmas Day when there’s not enough turkey to go round. Shame on Sainsbury’s “disgusting” I would imagine Sainsbury’s management of years gone by would be ashamed at what a greedy profit driven grotesque organisation Sainsbury have become I will not be shopping with this company again. Merry Christmas to SAINSBURY

Enough parking at the front. Good selection for everyday shop but much smaller than the one in York Monkscross. Some of my specific products I can’t get here. Still works very well for the area of Pocklington and around.

Today I visited your Pocklington store. Before reaching the checkouts, I checked my bank account, which showed more than enough funds for my shop. When I went to pay, the till declined my transaction twice. However, the money had already left my account and was pending to Sainsbury’s – it was not declined. I explained this clearly to multiple members of staff and showed them my bank account as proof. Ann, who was working on self checkouts, was unbelievably rude, demeaning, and condescending. She repeatedly interrupted me, refused to listen to my concerns, and insisted I was wrong without making any effort to review the evidence I provided. Her behaviour was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. Another staff member, Mandy, then approached. Although she was not as aggressively rude as Ann, she was equally unhelpful and dismissive. A manager, Phil, was called over, but he too failed to offer any productive advice, took no action to check the till transactions or my previous attempts, and provided no declined references to support what they were claiming. Throughout this entire ordeal, I felt ganged up on, belittled, and completely ignored in what was already an extremely stressful situation. I left the store without my shopping and £72.83 missing from my account. Upon returning home, I contacted my bank, who confirmed the payment was not declined and that the money had indeed left my account to Sainsbury’s. What makes this situation even worse is that I was forced to disclose my private financial information to three separate staff members simply to prove I was telling the truth. This was humiliating and completely inappropriate, leaving me feeling violated and disrespected. I should never have been placed in a position where I had to justify my own financial circumstances to store staff. I am extremely angry, upset, and disappointed by how I was treated. Not only have I lost £72.83, but I was subjected to rude, unhelpful, and bullying behaviour from three members of your staff who offered no support whatsoever. This experience has left me feeling that I never want to return to this store again. Going forward, I expect immediate contact regarding the return of my money and a full explanation as to why your staff handled this situation so appallingly. I also expect these three individuals – Ann, Mandy, and Phil – to undergo urgent retraining in customer service, as their conduct today clearly demonstrated that they do not possess even the most basic skills required to support customers respectfully and professionally.
