We just spent a few days here and loved it so much we are booking a longer stay next year with all our friends! It has fantastic views across the village rooftops to the sea, a short walk down beautiful lanes to the beach and all the facilities you could possibly need. A massive kitchen, communal living room area with a TV, books and games. A dining and teaching area with the largest TV I ever saw in my life. Multiple shower rooms and toilets on both floors. Sinks in each bedroom, that have various bunk bed options and one master bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds. An open grassy area outside with tables and seating to admire the above-mentioned views. And, of course, there is Robin Hood's Bay itself.. what's not to like?!

Excellent value accommodation for me, my wife and our son. We got a room that can sleep 6 in bunk beds for just £51 on an Easter weekend night. It's very basic and like being on a school trip but comfortable, warm and friendly. You have shared bathrooms and kitchens but this isn't an issue for a short stay.

Perfect for our stay as a family .Tim is really friendly and welcoming. We had a bunk beds! It is set out like a dorm but this meant we could stay in the same room. There's TV room, hot shower and kitchen to use (Tim had even got us some milk😊) This place is great for families.

It's very basic, hostel type accommodation. The hosts are very accommodating. We came in soaking wet with muddy bikes and clothes. Soon all drying and warming up. Very central location, very good value. Bring your own towels and soap.

Kate & Tim are fantastic, welcoming hosts. We arrived on our bikes, soaking wet, and they helped us with our gear, setting up racks next to radiators so we could get everything dry, opening up an outbuilding to store the bikes, helping lots. The Old School. House is set up for large parties of school children, with minimalist rooms containing bunk beds, and shared toilets/bathrooms, but it works well for families. A small kitchen you can use for yourself, a good common dining area and free Wi-Fi. Tim and Kate will provide a continental breakfast and Robin Hood's Bay has lots of places to eat out. If you're walking or cycling along the coast or want to go fossil hunting, definitely recommend this place.
