Reception staff great. Road outside has fantastic views over the bay. Rooms cold, dark and grimy. Bathroom shabby and dated. Hard to find rooms in the maze of corridors. Steps up and down everywhere. Lift broken . The whole hotel is desperate for a thorough refurbishment.

We have just returned from a three night stay. We’d read some awful reviews, so wasn’t expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Check in was fast and the reception staff were very friendly. Our room was fairly small but cozy, with a large bathroom which had a bath as well as a shower. The room was clean, but the bed was a bit uncomfortable, giving us both backache! There were plentiful supplies of tea and coffee to help yourself from near the reception. We ordered the meal deal food one evening. Service was a bit slow but the food was delicious with good portion sizes. The hotel is in a great location, with sea views and within easy walking distance of the town. There are also lots of other places to eat within a few minutes walk. Our issue was parking. We couldn’t park outside the hotel as it was always full, and the multi story was no good for us as we were in a van. We ended up parking on the road about a 15 minute walk away which was annoying. This hotel offers everything you’d expect from a budget stay and we’d stay here again if we were in the area. For those who are complaining about seagull noise……what do you expect when you stay by the sea? Hardly the fault of the hotel!!!

Parking right outside, pay and display. Great location. We paid extra for a room with a view of the sea however the windows were so dirty, couldn't see anything. There was a terrible damp smell in the bathroom but receptionist said nothing can do about it! The area when get in the lift (at reception) was also very smelly. Definitely needs refurbished, won't be rushing back

I had a really disappointing stay here. The hotel constantly smelled like weed, and even after reporting it on Saturday, it happened again on Sunday. The staff didn’t resolve the issue at all. The cleanliness was also shocking — dirt and stains around the doors, flooring, and even in the toilet. It clearly hasn’t been cleaned properly for a long time. I actually left early because I didn’t feel comfortable staying any longer. Very poor experience and absolutely not worth the money. As well the staff on Friday night was rude.

Stayed last week for a night by the sea. The location of the hotel is on top of cliff on the sea front, however sea view not visible from hotel as another hotel in the way. Outside of hotel very run down. Staff were polite and helpful. Room was spacious but very run down. Chair leather split. Flat roof outside window has rubbish including nappy on. Water was coming up through the bath plug. Ended up not using the shower facilities. Would not stay again for the price paid
