Rooms are dated and shabby. Bits of trim missing off fixtures. Walls dirty. Bed linen clean though. Extracter fan in bathroom broken so it was too steamed up to use the mirror to apply make up in there. Lack of sockets to charge up phones if there are two of you. Had to unplug the tv to use that socket. Only 30mins free Wi-Fi per day. Two members of staff were lovely and friendly. One didn’t even acknowledge us as we came and went. Complimentary coffee was disgusting. Luckily Greggs next door ,also the Farm shop did nice takeaway coffee and had a cafe too. Nice little 30 min walk into Skipton.
We were booked into the premier inn but when we arrived we actually thought it was too far away from Skipton. We quickly googled other hotels, the Travelodge came up at not a cheap price but we thought it’s closer so will be easier for us. How wrong we were. Reception staff was ok until her friends arrived then she was great. Rooms very old and basic, barely any sockets. Bathroom very tired, no plug in sink. We had a downstairs room facing main road with no net on window so privacy unless you like a badly lit room was zero. We stay in quite a few different Travelodge throughout the year and unfortunately this one took us back 15 years. We have booked again but this time we will make the extra 2 mile journey to the premier inn.
When I arrived, I asked if I could use a bathroom quickly before checking in as I'd had a long journey sat in traffic with no service stops. I was told no, is have to go to the burger king around the corner 🙄 I ask very little of a hotel room when I'm traveling for work. Unfortunately this one failed on a basic necessity. Water pressure. It took almost a minute just to fill the very small kettle in the room. Thankfully there was a bathtub, so I just left that to fill (had coffee, caught up with emails and doom-scrolled on my phone to pass time), because there wasn't nearly enough water pressure to shower comfortably.
Both my partner and I would like to thank all the staff at the travel lodge skipton for there efforts in making our stay that bit more special, thanks to the two ladies on reception Debbie and Julie absolute credit to the company nothing was to much trouble for them ,so helpful and polite they really made our stay so much better a true credit the pair of them thanks guys, love Andy and susanne ❤️
Basic room, decor a bit tired but clean and bed comfortable. Nice to have a bath as well as shower and basic hair and body wash provided. Near busy main roads so quite noisy when window open. Good location off the A59, Skipton
