Lovely spot for walking and a tasteful memorial to those who served in the mines. A favourite spot for local dog walkers.
Very nice area to take a walk in, could do with a bit more history and information on the coal mine that it memorialises,
A shaft wheel set onto a plinth. To remember the time of open cast and drift mining in Selby. In memory of those that worked and died in the pursuit of the black gold. Looking towards a greener future. The memorial is set in a community woodland area. There are good Pathways and grassed areas. Bee hotels and a bird watching area. Pathways and benches available. Parking in the designated area by entrance. A suitable path for wheelchair users to be able to gain access.
