A community field near the centre of Selby. The lower field is a flood plain for Selby Dam. It has several entrances and ideal for dogs. It is not fenced. Grass is cut long by local council . The upper field contains a children's play ground and climbing area. The Selby wildlife pond is in far corner. Great place for some open air exercise and within easy reach of centre of Selby.
Very peaceful place. There's a bench and a basketball hoop... you can also walk along the canal.
Just the presence of this green space, with its adjacent Wildlife Pond, in the middle of Selby, is worth five stars. Along with the presence of several other green spaces centrally in Selby, it tells you that this is one thing Selby has got right; the very welcome provision of green spaces in the town centre. See also, the Selby Wildlife Pond, Selby Park, Bondgate Community Woodlands, Selby Basin and the Selby Canal Walk. There's others of course, but this is a convincing starter for ten.
