One of the staff members, named “Sniv,” seemed far more interested in guarding the shop’s precious toilets than in serving coffee. Her attitude was really poor. I think she assumed I had left after her little toilet-guardian routine, but I was standing right behind her waiting to order my drink while she went on explaining to another customer how much it annoys her when people use the toilet facilities in a coffee shop. I didn’t appreciate the passive handwritten note on the lid either.

Regular visits when visiting whitby. Find tourists are very rude to staff who give up their Christmases and new year to make our coffee. Anyone who is rude to service staff are the lowest of the low. Group of tourists in today taunting the staff, definitely looking for an argument. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. If this was my shop, id make them ask for a toilet key instead of a code. But on the other hand, very busy today as its new years eve. Staff never stopped running around making drinks and clearing tables. I find them wonderful. Always have a kind word and a smile for everyone. I think customers should be more understanding as these staff go above and beyond. Work short staffed and are under pressure Instead of berating them on here try walking in their shoes for a day. I think you'd see a side which is pretty hard work. No Karen in there today apart from the Karen's in the large group. Toilet code has been changed 2 times this year so im sure it shall change again. Keep up the good work. HAPPY NEW YEAR 😂

We came into the store with 14 of my family. Some visiting from Australia, so it would’ve been nice for them to have had a good first impression. Alas, despite us putting in a huge order we were met with a hostile toilet guarding experience. My 17 and 8 year old cousins were verbally attacked on the way to the toilet and accused of not being customers, not knowing the code and illegally using their toilets. Anyone that shouts at children (or anyone, for that matter) should not be in the service industry. For those visiting, the toilet code is 6547Z. Enjoy your toileting experience (it’s better than the hot drinks).

We arrived as a big, happy family group of 15, happy to spend. But emergency priority after a chilly coastal march from Robin Hoofs Bay was, naturally, the toilet. When I asked how to get into it, the staff member dashed past sneeringly saying, “The code is on your receipt!” So, I had to queue, cross-legged, at the back of a long queue, to buy several expensive tasteless hot chocolates. The lurch over to the toilet. Ahh, the Relief of Mafeking!! Then, back to find my now Luke-warm chocolate. What a miserable bunch the staff are there. Oh, I almost forgot: THE TOILET CODE IS 6-5-4-7-Z Got that?

The staff were rude and made you feel like an inconvenience. Drinks slammed down infront of me. Very disappointed normally treated well in Costa.
