Description

On arriving at Kingfisher you’ll be struck by the generous windows that span the property allowing light to flood into this chic, open-plan barn. The vaulted ceilings and exposed beams are a wow factor from the second you enter. The attention to detail carries throughout, from the muted Farrow & Ball colours to the carefully appointed furniture and striking artwork. 

Off the spacious entrance hall to the right is a generous sitting room, centred around a beautiful fireplace filled with a log burner. What a perfect place to lounge on a cosy evening on the big comfy sofa, with a roaring fire and a good book or a film on the smart TV. 

To the left, guests will find a stunning open-plan kitchen and dining area. This beautiful beamed space features a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, island with barstools and Rangemaster – ideal for entertaining. Chat to guests whilst you rustle up a meal before serving them at the large dining table with seating for 8 guests. A cosy seating area at the end of the room has a television and is a wonderful spot to appreciate the views after dinner. In the colder weather, the underfloor heating will ensure you’re never less than toasty warm! 

This single-storey property features four bedrooms, sleeping up to eight guests. Two stylish double bedrooms with exposed brickwork and pretty wooden panelling make this luxury holiday cottage an inviting space to while away a lazy morning in bed. Both double bedrooms benefit from en-suite shower rooms. 

The two further bedrooms have zip-and-link beds, which can be arranged as a king-sized bed or as single beds for your convenience. Wooden panelling frames the bed, with views over the surrounding fields and the brook that winds around the garden. 

The bathroom has a separate shower and bath, for a relaxing soak in the bubbles after a busy day exploring. The fourth bathroom is an accessible wet room with a shower and a cloakroom. 

Step out into a fabulous enclosed courtyard with views over the surrounding fields. With the spring babbling in the background, fire up the gas BBQ as there’s plenty of space for al fresco dining. Described by the owners as ‘a real sun-trap’, this south-facing courtyard is the perfect spot. 

Beyond the jacuzzi hot tub, through bi-fold doors, you’ll find a fantastic bar and games room. The stream runs right under the bar! Look down through reinforced glass floor panels, which makes an elegant addition to this fun entertaining space. From a large American fridge, take a cold drink and meander to and from the hot tub just a few steps away. 

Kingfisher is set back off a quiet countryside lane. Except for a neighbouring farmhouse, it’s a private haven surrounded only by green fields and inquisitive cows! Adults can relax, as children and dogs have the freedom to run around and spot the crayfish in the spring. 

This single-storey barn has wide doorways, plus a wet room to accommodate wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. A separate utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, large Range oven, and big fridge freezer. Dogs are welcome and parking is plentiful on the gravelled driveway.
