This store is my go-to for affordable outdoor gear and clothing. It's definitely a budget-friendly alternative to Trespass. I've gotten great fleece jackets, site pants, and even all my son's school sneakers here. They have a good selection of popular athletic brands, making it a one-stop shop for active families. Plus, they have regular sales throughout the year, like seasonal and clearance events, which helps to stretch the budget. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful, but finding staff in the shoe section can be a challenge. Sometimes they seem a bit rushed, but overall, the convenience and value outweigh that minor drawback. I can usually find good deals on quality items. Overall, this store offers fantastic value for the price, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for affordable outdoor and sporting goods.
Was going to buy something, but there was no one serving at the till. One of the staff shouted Cameron to serve, his response: "in a minute". It was at that point I decided to spend myoney elsewhere! I wouldn't mind but I walked past two employees (presumably managers) stood doing nothing as I walked out. Plus, the escalator was broken, so had to use the lift, which was full of litter. Dreadful experience.
I was assaulted by a member of staff in this store in 2022. Yes, it was as weird and unreasonable of a scenario as it sounds. No, there was no justifiable explanation for the incident. In-store staff did not handle the situation well or properly. Sports Direct were slow and laborious in reporting any outcome to the situation, as a whole. In hindsight: I should have consulted the police. Shop elsewhere or order online. Customers enter here, at your peril!
Decent place, clean and tidy. Staff seem to be fine but can do more to engage with customers. Not once was I asked, "is everything okay". They could have gone the extra mile. But that's not the reason why I have given a 2*. The main reason for this is because once purchased, there doesn't seem to be any plastic carrying bags. They usually sell you the one that is for £1.50 and you pretty much got no choice but to purchase it or walk out with your shopping in your hands and arms! Not the first time it's happened, hence why the frustration.
I have never met anyone more rude in service. We were there looking for shoes, instead of offering to help the staff there decided to disturb us while hoovering right in middle of where we were. After this unethical and pretty much hateful act when we proceeded towards the check out the guy(Mirpuri/ indian) there (specifically who was tangling us with hoover) asked us to pick all the shoes and put it back on the rack (keeping in mind he never offered to help, instead was trying to get us out of the shop from the start). Anyways he said you have created a mess, we are not gonna serve you unless you clear that all. (i had already cleared it and it was 2 boxes on the floor which i didn’t knew where they were to be placed) Come on staff of sports direct you wasn’t already serving us. Also its not our fault that you don’t have ethics and you don’t like to work there. If you are in a job that includes treating people, you pay respect and be worthy enough to be treated same. P.S it happened on 28th June, around 4.30 if sport direct is good enough to take care of the problems like this.
