Had a lovely tasty mixed grill here today, and the staff were really helpful and friendly, especially Harry and Hattie. There was a problem with the till and they both handled flustered customers with much grace and remained really calm and professional under pressure. Such a wonderful trait to see in the younger generation. You'll both go far! X

I regularly call here with my children after work and we make the most of the £6 main course meal deal. It is as good as it sounds and the home cooked food is excellent. The lasagne is amazing as is every meal we have had from this menu. There isn't a star rating for value for money but if there was this place would be a six. We will continue to come here at least once a week

Christmas dinner. Before I start, I appreciate it was Christmas Day. Our sitting was at 4 and we were shown to our table at 4:15. The starter server had as much charisma as the prawns in my prawn cocktail. All went well with the day apart from when we ordered our last drinks at around 5:35. One of the; shall I say, more mature servers came to our table and said,” you better hurry up with those drinks because we close at 6”. At 5:40 they started to vacuum around us whilst clearing the table before everyone had finished. Now as I said, I appreciate it was Christmas Day. Not once during the booking process to 5:35 on that day was the closing time mentioned. It did spoil what has always been a good experience there but a handful of the staff there really should not be in the hospitality sector.

Went for Mother's Day all you can eat breakfast with most my family. A great time had, food very good but could taste better as a little bland in parts. Sadly though, don't like the idea of staff taking plates whilst still eating. Nor telling us to go before 11.15am, when we booked at 9.30am didn't get all our food sorted until after 10am and spent good money there. We ended up leaving at 11.30am, so a bit disappointed with what they said. Otherwise, it's a great place, accessible for disabled and has a disabled loo too. And there's a sloping road down to play area, where kids can play whilst watching boats or ducks on canal adjacent to restaurant.
