Welcome to Yorkshire

|Well, that was quick. It seems like the entire country tried to get tickets for the Deacon Blue show in Halifax, and the first date sold out in a flash. For anyone who was left staring at a sold-out page, there's some brilliant news. The Scottish legends have heard the calls from their fans and have added a second date to their summer schedule at TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall 2026. This means there’s another chance to see this incredible band live.

Double the Deacon Blue, double the fun
It’s official. Due to what can only be described as phenomenal demand, Deacon Blue will now be playing not one, but two nights in Halifax. Originally, the band was set to headline on Thursday 9 July, but after tickets flew off the virtual shelves, they’ve added a second show on Wednesday 8 July 2026.
This is all part of their The Great Western Road Trip Rolls On tour, and it’s clear that fans are desperate to be part of the celebration. It’s not every day a legendary band comes to town, especially to a venue as special as The Piece Hall. So, for everyone who missed out the first time, this is the second chance to grab those precious tickets and be part of an amazing night of music.
The remaining tickets for the Thursday show and the brand new Wednesday show go on general sale at 10am on Friday via Ticketmaster.
A career-spanning celebration of hits
So, what can fans expect from the show? Think of it as a journey through four decades of incredible music. Deacon Blue are celebrating 40 years since the band first got together, which is a massive milestone. The Halifax shows are set to be a career-spanning night, packed with all the big hits — songs like Real Gone Kid, Dignity, Chocolate Girl, and Wages Day are pretty much guaranteed to have the whole crowd singing along.
But it’s not just about the classics. The band will also be playing tracks from their latest album, The Great Western Road. This album has been a huge success, hitting Number 3 in the UK charts and topping the Scottish Album Chart. It shows that even after all this time, these Scottish legends are still making brilliant music that connects with people.
With over 7 million albums sold and two UK Number One albums under their belt, their live show is a masterclass in performance — a true celebration of their amazing story, connecting with fans both old and new.
Not just one band, but two!
As if one iconic band wasn't enough, there are also some very special guests joining the party. The mighty Lightning Seeds will be supporting Deacon Blue on both nights — yes, the band behind timeless indie-pop hits like Pure, Lucky You, and the era-defining The Life of Riley.
Led by the brilliant Ian Broudie, Lightning Seeds burst onto the music scene in the late ’80s and have been a fan favourite ever since. Their music is known for being incredibly catchy and full of feel-good energy. Having them on the bill makes these two nights at The Piece Hall even more unmissable — a perfect pairing of two of the UK’s most-loved bands, promising a full evening of singalong anthems.
What's the story with The Piece Hall?
For anyone who hasn't been, The Piece Hall in Halifax is not your average music venue. It's a massive, beautiful Grade I listed building with a giant open-air courtyard — the only remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world.
It’s been transformed into a stunning cultural destination for the whole community, complete with independent shops and restaurants. Hosting huge live music events is now a big part of what makes it so special. The atmosphere for a summer show there is electric.
The event series is presented by TK Maxx, alongside its sister brand Homesense, helping bring world-class artists to this unique historic setting and creating a fantastic cultural experience.
Who else is playing this massive summer of music?
The Deacon Blue shows are part of a huge summer of live music at The Piece Hall. The lineup for 2026 is already looking incredible, with a host of amazing artists scheduled to perform — a real showcase of diverse music genres.
