For me personally, there are three things i want from a gym (besides being open from 6 in the morning):- 1. Good selection of equipment that's well maintained 2. Showers that work and somewhere to get changed 3. A clean working sauna or steam room The gym in this place is fine and so is the sauna (apart from the timer went missing about 3 weeks ago and has not been replaced), but the showers are not. There are 6 showers in the mens changing room. Currently 1 is for people that like a cold shower, 1 trickles water rather than 'showers' you and 1 is fully out of order (since last week). For the last month or so i have been mentioning to staff about the fact that the showers that are working are always cold and nothing has been done about it. I originally moved over from Everlast due poorly maintain facilities but after only a couple of years of being open, this gym looks to be heading the same way. Over the past 6 weeks Everlast was closed for a referb. This was a great opportunity for JD to win over more members from a rival gym. Instead it has probably ensured that Everlast members taking a monthly trial membership with JD will be more than eager to return to their shiny newly referbed place.
I recently decided to join the gym a few weeks ago and as someone who’s never been, I was slightly nervous. But this lovely lady that works in the mornings was so helpful and explained a lot of the machines to me. She helped me on how to use them and was so lovely to talk to. I always make sure to go when she’s working towards the end of the week. The gym itself is v big with a large selection of equipment and the ladies gym is immaculate. It’s always clean on the ladies side. I definitely recommend all the girls to come!
Great gym. But needs to be marshal a bit more. A lot of men coming in wearing work clothes and dirty boots. People training in normal clothes. Broken locks on toilet doors. Still a great gym. 👍
Great gym, well equipped and convenient in terms of parking and opening hours, but quite dirty. Used tissues discarded on gym floor and on cardio and cable machines, and the women's toilets and showers are gross.
Nice gym, unfortunately the extremely uncomfortable cold environment let's it down, ice cold blowers blowing directly down onto customers., numerous complaints made however the paying customers views don't seem to hold any value. Apparently the manager likes it cold and will turn the temperature down as soon as he arrives to suit his own needs.
