I’ve been a member at JD Gyms Bradford, but I’m extremely concerned about safety. For nearly two weeks, there have been exposed mains sockets in the gym. This poses a serious risk of electric shock to anyone nearby, and it’s shocking that no one has noticed or addressed this issue. According to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the gym must ensure the health and safety of all employees and members, which includes maintaining a safe environment. By allowing exposed mains sockets to remain, the gym is failing to meet its duty of care. Additionally, it violates the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, which requires that all electrical systems be properly maintained to prevent hazards. It’s unacceptable that such a hazardous situation has been allowed to persist. I urge management to take immediate action to address this and improve safety protocols. Until then, I cannot recommend this gym. The toilets and showers area smell and are disgusting. Do NOT get a shower they only stay on for 5 secs so you keep on pressing and its smells horrible The socket in question is in the small area as you walk in on the right of the entrance mirrored with small section of weights and next to the treadmills

JD Gyms Bradford encourages feedback in their gym. However after emailing, writing on the online form and speaking to staff. I have received no response despite reaching out multiple times. Either the gym management is hiding something or they are lying about welcoming feedback on their gyms.

Overall, this is a great gym with excellent equipment and a friendly atmosphere. The staff is helpful, and the membership plans are affordable. The only reason I’m giving four stars is that it can get busy during peak hours, and finding parking is sometimes challenging. However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I’ll continue coming here!

Absolutely loving the newly refurbished area! Wasn’t much wrong with the previous womens area but this is a whole new level. It looks so modern and clean! Equipment is always maintained and the aircon does wonders as there’s little to no odour. Would recommend this gym to all women, 10/10, great privacy, looks classy and there’s a good variety of equipment! Not to mention David, he’s super kind and approachable, always lovely to see a smiling face around and he’s always ready to help with any admin issues or if you need pointing in the right direction, deserves a pay rise👏

I had a very upsetting experience at JD Gyms Bradford (Retail Park, Manningham Lane). After completing my workout, using the sauna and shower, I returned to my locker to find that a JD Gyms staff member had broken my padlock and removed all of my belongings without my permission. When I questioned staff, I was told they are “allowed to break padlocks.” However: • There was no warning sign • No notice explaining locker rules • This is a 24/7 gym, and I was actively using the facilities at the time My personal belongings were taken, including: • A full Cetaphil hygiene kit (shampoo, conditioner, face wash, etc.) worth approximately £150 • My weight lifting belt Some items were never returned, and staff could not clearly explain whether they were thrown away or taken. This is completely unacceptable. Even if lockers are monitored, staff should not destroy locks or remove belongings without warning, and certainly not discard personal property. If JD Gyms has a policy allowing this, items should be safely stored and returned, not lost or disposed of. I am still waiting for either: • My full belongings to be returned, or • Reimbursement for the items taken Very disappointed with how this was handled.
