Provenance Collection, a well-known name in North Yorkshire's hospitality scene, has announced some exciting changes that signal a fresh start for the group. With a new leadership team and a more focused approach to its venues, Provenance is set to enhance the experiences it offers to guests across the region.

Leadership Change

As of June 2026, Anthony Blundell will step into the role of Managing Director, taking over from Peter Grazier, who is currently undergoing treatment for Leukaemia. Grazier has been a significant figure in the company, and his transition is marked by a sense of optimism for the future of the business.

“Over the last three years, Peter has been an incredible mentor to me personally and professionally.”

“With Peter’s agreement, I will formally assume the Managing Director role from June whilst Peter focuses on his recovery.”

Peter Grazier expressed his confidence in Anthony's leadership:

“I am delighted to hand over the Managing Director role to Anthony, supported by Dan Burkitt, Head of Operations, and Amanda Gillis, Head of Finance. I know our teams, partners and guests will support - and benefit from - a fresh, younger approach.”

This change reflects a broader strategy aimed at revitalising the company and enhancing its offerings.

Strategic Moves

In addition to the leadership changes, Provenance Collection has also sold three of its venues: The Black Bull at Moulton, The Punch Bowl at Marton-cum-Grafton, and The Cleveland Tontine near Northallerton. This decision allows the group to concentrate on its strongest venues and invest in their development. With this shift, Provenance aims to ensure that its remaining sites can provide exceptional experiences for visitors.

“This is a hugely important and positive step forward for Provenance Collection,” Anthony commented. “By refining our portfolio, we are now able to focus our efforts and investment on the sites which best represent the future vision of the business.” This means that guests can expect improved services and facilities at the remaining venues, which include:

  • The Carpenters Arms, Felixkirk

  • West Acre Lodge, Boltby

  • Oak Tree, Helperby

  • Crown & Cushion, Welburn

  • Coach & Horses, Harrogate

  • West Park Hotel, Harrogate

Looking Ahead

As Provenance Collection prepares for a busy summer, the team is optimistic about the future. Forward bookings for accommodation, events, food and drink are looking promising. The group's commitment to enhancing guest experiences is evident, with plans for ongoing improvements in various areas. These include:

  • Guest experiences

  • Food and drink offerings

  • Accommodation quality

  • Operational standards

Known for its boutique hotels, inns, and restaurants, Provenance Collection prides itself on providing premium hospitality experiences. Many of its venues feature lovely gardens, terraces, and courtyards that become popular spots for outdoor dining during the warmer months. This focus on creating inviting spaces is sure to attract both locals and visitors alike.

A Message of Support

The Provenance team is rallying around Peter Grazier during his treatment, with thoughts and prayers from everyone involved. This supportive environment is a testament to the strong community within the company. Anthony noted:

“We genuinely value the continued support of our teams, guests, suppliers and partners as we enter this exciting next chapter for Provenance Collection.”

With the combination of new leadership and a strategic focus on core venues, Provenance Collection is looking forward to a bright future. The changes aim to not only enhance the experience for guests but also to solidify the group's reputation as a leader in North Yorkshire's hospitality sector. As summer approaches, the anticipation builds for what this new chapter will bring to the beautiful venues across the region.
