Pets at Home Harrogate

The store itself is great, and the vet along with one of the receptionists were both very friendly and professional. However, unfortunately, I had a really unpleasant experience with another receptionist during my visit on 10/11/25 at 10:30am, when I brought my puppy in for his second vaccinations. The lady at the vet desk was extremely unfriendly and rude, which made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. It’s a real shame, as everyone else was lovely, but that experience has defintiely put me off returning. I only ever leave good reviews as I'm not one for writing bad reviews but it bothered me so much I feel compelled to.

Pets at Home care centre with ample accessibility and free car parking, Located next to a popular dog walking spot along the Oak Beck. Great to wander around the in-store Pet Village, do some shopping in-store, click and collect and/or visiting the local family owned Vets4Pets.

Great selection of treats, toys and accessories for my dog! Staff are always happy and friendly in here. The parking is great and the vets inside are good too!

Not too impressed with this shop. You drive all the way over to find they don't have what you want. You order it, and it comes broken and not offered a replacement.

1 because I can’t give 0. Went into store to buy a dwarf Syrian hamster. Angie the Manager condescendingly explained that dwarf and Syrian were separate. She was patronising with our queries. We tried to ignore it and be friendly but🤷🏽‍♀️. Rest- Me- I want to send it with my son to London by train as a gift. Angie- no you can’t. It can’t travel. I won’t sell it to you. Me: okay but can … She walked away. I called after her. Me- can I ask you a question (intent: buying one in London)! Angie the ’ manager’: no you cannot. I’m not speaking to you anymore. Refused to acknowledge me after that. I was completely taken aback. She was quite happy to give me her name. Customer Services Michael O took my complaint but also told me that the complaint procedure for the customer ends after making the complaint. In my opinion, Angie was okay to give me her name because she knew nothing was going to happen. Don’t shop here. Angie is the worst customer contact I’ve experienced. Can’t even call it a service. Shame on Pets at Home.
