Mires Beck Nursery

About

Description

Mires Beck Nursery is a registered charity of 26 years, teaching social therapeutic horticulture to adults with learning disabilities and Autism at our 14-acre rural nursery in North Cave. 100 adults per week come to the nursery for training and work experience amongst a caring and friendly community.

The founders of the nursery were passionate about conserving the Yorkshire landscape and the original focus was to save and grow Yorkshire wildflowers, we continue to grow from seed on site and hold a library of 150 varieties.

The service users grow over 35,000 plants and 120,000 trees each year which are distrubuted to garden centres throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We have a large plant nursery open to the public for the sale of plants and for visiting the gardens; the woodlands are open on event days. We are in the process of raising funds to facilitate a new café onsite.
