Young lad call Joe he been really good customer service and helped me friend sorted out everything for him . Everywhere need someone like joe
The manager James was polite and professional. Would happily go back to this branch anytime.
I had a very bad experience with this branch. The guy at the door was disrespectful. I went there to open a student account and though I had all required documents at hand, he kept me waiting for half an hour and then refused to open one for me. I went to Lloyds bank down the street straightaway with the same documents and opened an account in less than 10 minutes. Never step in to Nationwide again.
Never been so disgusted with a bank in my life. Recently returned to the UK and I have been banking with nationwide since I was 18 holding multiple accounts ect. Since returning I tried to open a joint bank account for me and my partner who is a E.U national. Now firstly we spoke with a worker at the Redcar branch and she said we needed proof of ID and proof of address at the time we didn't have proof of address, so after securing proof of address we then tried to go to the Middlesbrough branch and they said they were not accepting in branch account opening's which is fair in the current covid restrictions and advised us to try opening the account online but they said the proof we had was fully acceptable. So after looking abit online we decided to phone up instead and spoke with a lovely lady who went through the whole application process ect and informed us on receipt of the paperwork all we had to do was sign it and show proof of address in branch perfect or so you would think. We arrive at the branch this morning for them to tell us they can't accept any proof of identity in branch and this is has been in place since march and our only option is the postal service which only accept's UK passport's and driving license's neither of which my partner has as an E.U citizen only being in the UK a few week's. So my question is how did we manage to get told so many different things by different people if this has been the case since march?? You all need to get on the same page. The hoops we jumped through for the end result is ridiculous and the staff we did speak to this morning were less than helpful about our situation. I can safely say I will be closing all my accounts with nationwide and they will never receive my business again.
Staff were great unfortunately we had to visit the branch at our expense for something we should have been able to do in the app.
