If you love horse racing, winter fashion, and a touch of countryside glamour, then Catterick Racecourse’s Countryside Ladies’ Day is the place to be on Wednesday, 5 March 2025 in Richmond. Not only is it the final day of Catterick’s 2024/25 National Hunt season, but it’s also a chance for racegoers to showcase their best country-chic outfits while enjoying an exciting day at the races.

A Day of Racing and Style

The six-race card will keep the action thrilling on the track, but fashion takes centre stage off it! Attendees are encouraged to dress for the season, combining style with practicality—think tweeds, wool coats, and statement accessories that can handle the March weather.

Fashion competitions on the day include:

  • Best Dressed Lady – Sponsored by The Black Bull Inn and La Fille Rouge, the winner will take home a two-course meal for two (with wine!) at The Black Bull Inn and a £250 gift voucher to spend on bespoke clothing and accessories from La Fille Rouge.
  • Best Accessory – Sponsored by Saks Hair & Beauty at Sedbury Hall, this prize rewards standout fashion statements like stylish fedoras, elegant gloves, or chic boots. The winner receives a £100 voucher for Saks.

💡 Tip: If you love unique, handcrafted fashion, Yvonne Scales from La Fille Rouge will be at the event, selling her handmade tweed capes, wraps, and accessories—perfect for countryside-inspired looks!

Racing Highlights – Will the Champion Be Decided?

Beyond the fashion, there’s a major jockey and trainer title showdown happening. Brian Hughes currently leads the jockey standings, but in the trainers' championship, things are much closer. Donald McCain, Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith, and Philip Kirby all have four wins each, meaning the final races could decide the winner.

One of the most exciting races of the day is the Nick Luck Daily Podcast Pointing Pointers Open Hunters' Steeple Chase. If a horse wins both this race and the Kempton race on 1 April, they’ll secure a £5,000 bonus courtesy of the Nick Luck Daily Podcast.
