Nothing says "Happy New Year" like standing in a freezing Selby street, so we were thrilled to see Costa’s doors open. That’s where the thrill ended. I ordered the Nutcracker hot chocolate, only to be told it wasn’t available and hadn't been "for ages." I’m not sure if I was supposed to offer my condolences for their long-term syrup shortage, but maybe updating the giant digital screens would be more effective than a history lesson? We settled for the Terry’s Chocolate Orange version and were immediately hit with the "we close in 30 minutes" warning. It was less of a "warm welcome" (as their sign promised) and more of a "drink up and get out." To top it off, we enjoyed our drinks to the soothing soundtrack of a mop bucket as they cleaned around our feet. Shout out to the barista who was actually polite and wished us a Happy New Year—she was the only thing actually "warm" about the visit!
Came here after exploring the Abbey and the Marks Cross Shopping Centre. Costa is a huge chain here in the UK. But the quality depends quite a bit on the location and differs quite a bit all around the country. This one here was a nice experience though. Got a chai tea and an ice coffee. Both good quality, fair priced. Staff was friendly and the drinks arrived quick - it was a pretty quiet afternoon in this surprisingly fun little town. The location is quite pretty. It's by the shopping centre faing New Lane. But it's a pretty quiet street. And sitting here outside, enjoying the sun and the blue sky was just a very relaxing vibe. Really enjoyed it.
We went here for coffee whilst in the area, I spotted a caramel Spanish layered style coffee on the board so I was tempted, unfortunately it was one of those times where the goods weren't presented like the picture. It did taste nice though but for the cost of coffee these days presentation means a lot.
Great store, plenty of seats, pleasant and efficient staff, standard coffee and almond croissant ordered.
As a regular customer at Costa Coffee, I found that this branch was in need of some TLC. The paint work was drab and needed refreshing. Windows were dirty. and the whole experience was not up to Costa Coffees' usual high standards, I am not being over critical of this branch as regular readers of my reviews of Costa Coffee shops around the country are always of a high standard, so as a loyal customer it's just a polite heads up to say come on guys this one just needs that extra bit to level up to your normal high standards, I have faith that you will and I'll be checking as my partner works round the corner from the shop 😀
