Sheffield Food Tours has officially launched, expanding the successful Kelham Island Food Tours with two exciting new City Centre experiences. A Taste of Sheffield and the History & Brunch Tour are set to offer unique, guided walking tours that showcase the vibrant food, drink, and rich history of Sheffield's city centre.

A Legacy of Culinary Excellence

Kelham Island Food Tours, established in 2019, has grown steadily over the past five years, becoming a beloved fixture in Sheffield's culinary scene. The tours have hosted thousands of guests, with their flagship events, A Taste of Kelham and the Kelham Food & Beer Tour, filling up weeks in advance. The new venture, Sheffield Food Tours, builds on this success, aiming to capture the city's evolving cultural and culinary landscape.

Exploring the City Centre

Founder Sophie Barber highlights the rapid development and positive transformation occurring in Sheffield’s City Centre.

This exciting backdrop provides the perfect setting for the new tours. Guests have expressed eagerness to revisit and experience these new routes, which promise to deliver memorable culinary and cultural experiences.

A Taste of Sheffield

This tour offers residents and visitors an afternoon of discovery, featuring five unique venues and notable landmarks within the Steel City. Over four hours, participants will sample a diverse range of cuisines and uncover hidden gems known for serving some of the best food in Sheffield. The tour begins on Saturday, 31st August, and will run twice a month.

History and Brunch Tour

Led by local history enthusiast and retired chef Peter Mara, this tour delves into Sheffield’s past, starting from Norman times. Stories of Sheffield Castle and the Duke of Norfolk’s legacy enrich the journey, which also explores significant buildings representing the city’s industrial heritage. The final hour is spent enjoying a delicious brunch at Birdhouse Tea Co. This three-hour tour commences on Sunday, 4th August, and will run once a month.

Exciting Future Plans

Sheffield Food Tours is also planning to introduce a monthly Cookery School Experience in collaboration with Blend Culinary Foundation, starting in September. Additionally, a new self-guided food tour app will soon be available, offering flexible, on-demand culinary explorations. More details on these developments will be announced shortly.
