|On Wednesday, 4th September, York will host the fifth edition of the highly acclaimed Reignite series, a key event aimed at fostering growth and creativity within the city’s vibrant cultural landscape. Reignite V: Unexpected Collaborations is set to be a landmark occasion, uniting leaders, businesses, and creatives under the banner of York’s prestigious UNESCO City of Media Arts designation. This event transcends the creative sector, acting as a springboard for heightened ambition across various industries in the city.
The evening will begin with presentations at the Yorkshire Museum, followed by an exclusive late-night opening at the York Art Gallery. Attendees will enjoy a live DJ, refreshing drinks, and a last chance to view the captivating Monet exhibition, providing a perfect backdrop for networking and inspiration.

Reignite is not just an event; it is part of a broader vision to leverage York's UNESCO designation to attract investment, create educational opportunities, retain talent, and stimulate job creation. Reignite V will welcome 300 delegates, all gathering to celebrate York’s creative successes and to foster new cross-sector collaborations. York’s pioneering collaborations
One of the highlights of Reignite V will be the presentations by some of York’s most innovative organisations. Attendees will hear from Pilot Theatre, known for their groundbreaking work with new technologies; City Cruises, which has collaborated with Netflix; the National Railway Museum, which has commissioned artworks for its WonderLab; and Castle Howard, renowned for its partnership with artist Tony Cragg.
These presentations will be followed by a lively social gathering at the York Art Gallery, where guests can unwind with complimentary drinks provided in partnership with Dutch Barn Vodka. Reignite V is scheduled from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Wednesday, 4th September. With spaces filling up quickly, interested participants are encouraged to secure their spots by registering via Eventbrite.
The event is organised by Aesthetica, York BID, and York Museums Trust, with support from the City of York Council, Pilot Theatre, Castle Howard, National Railway Museum, and Dutch Barn Vodka.
