Smyths Toys Superstores York Monks Cross

Terrible. Partner qued for 6 hours for a pre order for my son on a rare item. Right when he was 5 from the front the whole of Smyths systems crashed. Of course this can’t be helped but there is ways of managing this that could have lead to no customer dissatisfaction. They turned him away and basically said it’s tough. Stock that couldn’t have been ordered if the whole of smyths system had crashed seemingly disappeared. Zero customer service or interest in rectifying customer dissatisfaction from head office either. I’ll stick to other toy stores in future.

Smyths hold records of my credit card, two email addresses, and my phone number. It would have been quite easy for them to inform me of their relocation from Clifton Moor to Monks Cross, and would have saved me a 40 minute drive. I guess all they had to do was to give a toss.

Very bad experience at Smyths York. I preordered Pokémon, paid the remaining amount, and then was told my order was “deleted.” The manager didn’t introduce herself, and the employee was hidden from me with the excuse that he was “on break” 30 minutes before closing. Completely unprofessional.

Personally had excellent experiences here, friendly and helpful staff. Popped in today and impressed by a staff members ability to be extremely calm and professional when faced with customers screaming, swearing and insulting them. Nothing calls for behaviour like that no matter what has happened.

Called with a PlayStation voucher which I'd misplaced. The young manager was VERY VERY helpful.. Stupidly forgot to get her name. Thank you young lady 🙏
