This is a great gym, well equipped with attentive staff. I have been coming here now for just over a year and honestly cant think of anything else the place would need. Plenty of equipment and cable machines, Classes if you want them and generally clean. There can be a problem at busier times with weights not being put back but that is down to the clients not the staff. (Not that the staff don't put them back because they do) If your looking for somewhere to get in shape with plenty of options to do it you cant go wrong with coming here. Only thing i could possibly think to add would be a coffee machine to grab and go on the way out.
Gym has a lot to offer which is great. However, it's disgusting. The weights are all over the place, balancing ontop of eachother on the rack which can be a bit of a hazard. The floor looks like it's never been cleaned. The benches are dirty, you could see the sweat stains. Bear clips all over the floor near the smith machine and bicep curl seat. Weights were dirty as well as the mirrors. I wanted to use the sauna and that's the main reason why I signed up but by the looks of the state of the gym I don't even know if that has been cleaned.
Plenty of machines to use, never too busy that things aren't available, and most people are just cracking on with getting their sets done. The showers are ok, the timer needs to be longer! Vending machines usually stocked up and machines rarely out of use. The car park is like pot hole city, be careful, JD in general are a bit unclear with the day passes, they aren't available in the gym or online, but customer services on Facebook state the passes should be in the gym. Big credit to the cleaner man, works tirelessly at keeping it tip top! Noticed the etiquette has dropped lately, people leaving 200kg on the leg press! That's down to the clients, maybe more signage will remind people to put the weights back.
It’s a really good gym staff are polite I feel like they should have a boxing room
The first month wasn’t too bad, then they started to refurbish everything making half the gym unusable, I then wanted to freeze my account for a month but apparently a 2 weeks notice is not long enough so when they charged me £22 I cancelled my direct debit and rang them. They can’t even refund me and I can’t even go to the gym for the month I’ve payed! It gets 2 star because the first month was really enjoyable for the price but after that it’s been a terrible experience don’t recommend until you know their policy inside and outside, wait until they finish their refurbishments and fix the broken machines
