JD Gyms in York is exceptional! It’s clear they’ve considered every common gym complaint and addressed them brilliantly. The changing rooms are spotlessly clean, the lighting is excellent, and there’s an impressive range of equipment. With plenty of machines, spare accessories for cable setups, and multiple dumbbells of each weight, you’re never left waiting. The resistance machines, including top-quality Hammer Strength gear, are a standout. The gym is open 24/7, making it incredibly convenient for any schedule. The staff are friendly, approachable, and always willing to help. Hygiene is a priority, with constant cleaning keeping the facility pristine. The music selection keeps the energy high, creating a motivating atmosphere. JD Gyms York has set a new standard for what a gym should be!

We recently changed gyms and joined JD gym York. From the first time we visited and were shown round by a very helpful guy called Byron, we were hooked. Their range of equipment is very impressive, there is everything there the average or even professional gym goer would need. The changing rooms are stunning, clean and well stocked stocked with hairdryers and lockers, as well as a sauna. Byron is always welcoming as are the rest of the staff. The gym is spotlessly clean and never that busy when we go. We are daytime users but I have no experience of what it’s like at peak hours. For the cost, it’s worth every penny!

Great gym overall , however it is let down by the kids who urinate all over walls in the men’s showers and treat the facilities like a dump.This has given the showers a strong smell of urine and has turned the bottom of the walls yellow . There is also a build up on the walls In the shower from fat and sweat which is disgusting and needs to be cleaned a lot more often , and definitely a lot more thoroughly.The sauna could also do with a much more thorough clean as someone is definitely going to get ringworm or something with all the bodily fluids and sweat in there that’s building up. I’m not one to usually complain but basic hygiene shouldn’t have to be asked for when I’m paying £22/month for a membership.

Love this gym! The vibe is super positive and not intimidating at all. The equipment is always in good shape, and there’s plenty of variety so I never get bored. The staff is really friendly and helpful too( especially Natalia) they make you feel welcome from day one. Honestly, it’s the first gym I’ve actually looked forward to going to.”

Great gym with really friendly staff! Natalia was the first instructor who helped me and my friend, she gave us our induction and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the start. Another staff member also helped us out recently (sorry I didn’t catch their name), but they were just as supportive. Really appreciate how approachable and helpful the team is here. Highly recommend it!
