Extreme and Nile Rodgers & CHIC Join Massive 2025 Line-up at The Piece Hall

The 2025 Live at The Piece Hall series is shaping up to be an unmissable summer of music, and two major names have just been added to the bill. Extreme, the multi-platinum-selling rock legends, and the iconic Nile Rodgers & CHIC will be lighting up the historic Halifax venue with huge performances in August.

Extreme: Hard Rock Icons Bring the Riffs

Date: Thursday, August 7
Support Act: Terrorvision

Boston’s finest, Extreme, are bringing their signature mix of hard rock and heartfelt ballads to The Piece Hall for the first time. If you’ve ever sung along to their 1991 No.1 hit “More Than Words”, you’ll know that these guys can switch from powerful rock anthems to intimate acoustic moments in a heartbeat.

Led by Gary Cherone (vocals) and Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Extreme made a massive comeback in 2023 with their album Six—their first studio release in 15 years. Expect a set packed with classic hits, deep cuts, and jaw-dropping guitar work from Bettencourt, who’s widely regarded as one of the best in the business.

Joining them are Terrorvision, the Bradford-born rockers behind the 90s hit "Tequila". Fresh from reuniting and dropping their latest album We Are Not Robots! in 2024, this is a proper homecoming gig for them.

Nile Rodgers & CHIC: The Ultimate Summer Party

You can’t have a summer series without Nile Rodgers & CHIC, and this will be their fourth time playing The Piece Hall—because, let’s be honest, Halifax just can’t get enough of them!

Nile Rodgers isn’t just a music legend—he’s shaped entire genres. As a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award winner, he’s worked with everyone from David Bowie (Let’s Dance) and Madonna (Like A Virgin) to Daft Punk (Get Lucky) and Beyoncé (Renaissance). And with CHIC, he’s brought us disco anthems like Le Freak, Good Times, and Everybody Dance.

Speaking about the show, Nile said:

“I love the UK, it’s my home from home. This will be our fourth visit to this beautiful venue and I can’t wait to bring the Good Times to Halifax yet again.”

Support comes from The Brand New Heavies, pioneers of British funk and acid jazz, celebrating 30 years of their iconic album Brother Sister. If you love soulful grooves and big brass hooks, they’ll be the perfect warm-up before CHIC take over.

The Venue: A Historic Setting for World-Class Music

If you’ve never been to The Piece Hall, you’re in for a treat. This stunning Grade I listed building, originally built in 1779 as a cloth trading hall, has been transformed into a world-class open-air concert venue. With its 66,000sq ft courtyard, it’s the perfect backdrop for epic live music under the stars.
