|Big news for anyone into their rock music! Fresh off a massive win at the GRAMMY Awards, the American band Turnstile have just announced they’re playing a huge headline show right here in Yorkshire. And when they say huge, they mean it. This will be their only UK performance for the whole of 2026, making it a proper UK exclusive event.
The band is set to take over the stunning open-air courtyard of The Piece Hall in Halifax for what is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about gigs of the summer. This is a big deal, especially for a band at the absolute top of their game after winning not one, but a double helping of prestigious awards.
So, who are these Grammy-winning hardcore heroes?
For anyone who hasn't had them on their playlist yet, Turnstile are a rock band from Baltimore in the USA who have been making waves for a while now. They are what many would call proper hardcore heroes, building a massive following since they formed back in 2010. The band is made up of lead singer Brendan Yates, guitarists Pat McCrory and Meg Mills, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang. After a string of smaller releases, they properly burst onto the scene and have been dropping acclaimed albums ever since, including their incredible fourth studio album, Never Enough.
But recently, things have gone to a whole new level for them. Think of the GRAMMY Awards as the biggest night in music, a bit like the World Cup final for bands. Well, Turnstile didn't just get invited, they went home with two massive wins. They bagged the ‘Best Metal Performance’ award and, crucially, the ‘Best Rock Album’ award for Never Enough. That's a massive achievement. They were also nominated for three other awards, which shows just how much the music world is paying attention to this band. After their double GRAMMY success, the band paid tribute to their fans, saying: “Thank you to anyone who has ever come to a show and swung in the dark with us!” It's clear their live shows are something special, and now they're bringing that energy to Halifax.
A one-off summer show in West Yorkshire
Here’s the main thing to know: this isn't just another stop on a long tour. The show at The Piece Hall on Wednesday, 26th August is a UK exclusive. That means it’s the only chance to see Turnstile live in the entire country in 2026. They're flying over to play this single headline date, making it a seriously hot ticket. The gig is part of the summer-long music series, TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall, which has become a legendary event in the music calendar.
Imagine it: a warm summer evening, an incredible historic venue, and one of the world's most exciting rock bands on stage. The atmosphere for this live show is going to be electric. The fact that the band chose Halifax in West Yorkshire for their only UK date speaks volumes about the venue's reputation. This isn't just any gig; it's a destination event that people will travel from all over for. The success of their last album, Never Enough, saw it chart in the top 10 in five different countries, so demand for this exclusive show will be through the roof. This is a must-see for any rock music fan.
An iconic venue with a massive summer of music
The Piece Hall itself is a bit of a star. It's a Grade I listed building with a history stretching back to the 1770s, and it’s the only Georgian cloth hall left in the world. But now, its massive open-air courtyard has made it one of the most iconic and beloved live music venues around. It's a place where history and modern music collide, creating an unforgettable experience. This summer, the TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall series is bigger than ever, with 41 headline shows announced. That makes it the biggest outdoor gig series anywhere in the UK.
Turnstile are joining an incredible line-up of artists from different festivals and genres. Just to give an idea of the scale, other acts playing this summer include the supergroup Hollywood Vampires, rock legends Garbage, and pop-punk favourites Bowling For Soup. It’s a real mix, and adding a double GRAMMY-winning band like Turnstile to the list is a huge win for the venue and for music lovers in Yorkshire. Nicky Chance-Thompson, the CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, summed it up perfectly. She said: “2026 will see Turnstile playing at some of the world’s most iconic festivals and then here in Halifax at UK’s most iconic heritage venue. We always aim to deliver for the full spectrum of music lovers in Calderdale and knowing how passionate our rock and metal community is, this gig will be off the scale – truly unmissable!”
Tickets for the Turnstile headline show go on general sale at 10am on Friday, 27th February from Ticketmaster. Given this is a UK exclusive event from a band that just won multiple awards for their latest album, you can bet they’ll be snapped up fast. This is a unique opportunity to see one of the planet's best rock bands live at an equally iconic venue.
