Three Cottages, Meanwood Park

Although the Three Cottages at Meanwood is in a beautiful location, and is actually quite unique, I left disappointed. There was a large display board outside asking people to wait there until seated. I waited…until a lady and a child walked right by me and just sat down inside. The nice thing is that you can take your dog inside if on a leash, which I did. I had a coffee Americano that was rather bitter, and a piece of Mars Bar Slice. Also quite delicious but at about £4.50 a slice quite expensive. I asked the server if I could pay straight away as service was quite slow, she almost insisted that I pay it after. I did not want to waste further time after trying to catch her attention. I was given the apple box to tap my card on, but had to ask the server for my total bill. I also helped myself to a glass that was stacked next to a water dispenser on the bar. The glasses were dusty and when held to the light looked dirty. It would have been nice if the tray baked/cakes/slices had been labeled. I chose the wrong one from the menu, as I assumed one cake was another. I was happy to see water available for the dogs outside with paper cups. The owners didn’t seem too bothered about my feedback.

Went for a lovely lunch out in the outside gras area. We tried the Harrissa flatbread, soup, cheese toastie and battered fish sandwich. All of it was great! And of course every cake we tried was also amazing, great selection, several options for vegans or dairy free people.

Great food, great atmosphere, and live music to top it off! We had a fantastic visit to The Three Cottages in Meanwood. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, with live music adding a brilliant touch to the evening. The food was excellent: the Miso Glazed Pork Belly was beautifully tender with a rich glaze, the Crispy Potato Tots were perfectly golden and crunchy, the Maple Chicken Tenders were sticky, sweet and very moreish, and the Chilli Garlic Flatbreads were soft and packed with flavour — perfect for sharing. The Parmesan & Truffle fries were amazing! Service was friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and the addition of live music made the whole experience feel special. A lovely spot for both casual dining and a fun night out.

We went as a group of 5 with a pooch and the cafe was absolutely packed but they were super helpful to get us a table and move us to a more suitable when it became available. The food was great - generous portions, great quality and came quickly but not rushed. Highly recommend the cake, hot drinks and focaccia sandwiches. It was £23 pp for 2 drinks, lunch, sides and with a tip on top. Really recommend going for lunch and a little walk.

We have dined here on several occasions at different times of the day. Always been made welcome, staff team are attentive and pleasant. Service and food always excellent. Ambience is good - mixed range of clientele which is always good. Facilities are good. Really enjoy coming here. Thank you Rob and the team.
