Unfortunately during my two visits I have not been at all confident in how the staff measured children's feet. Perhaps the training has changed in recent years but they no longer seem particular about keeping hip, knee and ankle at correct angles. They also have limited choice for wide feet.

Wonderful staff at the Scarborough shop! I always dread the prospect of buying school shoes because my daughter has rather difficult-to-shoe feet, and more often than not we come away with absolutely nothing that will fit, and my daughter having to stick it out in too-small shoes for even longer. But Laura and the trainee working with her (sorry I didn't catch your name!) were so kind and patient. And we came away with not only a pair of shoes, but a pair of trainers too! Can't tell you how pleased I am that we are all set for high school in September, and we will certainly be back, even though we have to travel up from Hull! Thank you so much!

Wanted a pair of trainers and as I often wear Clarks shoes went into local store. Chose a pair of £70 trainers . Comfortable in shop so bought them. Reasonably comfortable in the house . Went for my daily four mile walk . They were dreadful! No insole to speak of and feet sore . Tried them again following day thinking they might improve with wear. They didn’t! After owning them for only a couple of days they are relegated to serving as uncomfortable slippers. OK if you are in a care home or disabled but avoid them if you walk at all.

There were two ladies working one was very helpful and pleasant for my grandsons first school shoes the other lady should think about a career change total lack of customer skills and not professional that you would except from clarks shoes
