If you’re looking for strength coaching in Hull / 1-to-1 personal training in Hull, I highly recommend you contact Sam at Strong For Life. I worked with him in the lead-up to a physique photoshoot, and the combination of his training and nutrition coaching transformed both my confidence and my results. Our weekly check-ins kept me on track without ever feeling over pressured. There’s no ego with Sam. He’s friendly, approachable, realistic, and still manages to push you to achieve your absolute best. He’s brilliant for beginners because he explains everything clearly, but even if you’re already comfortable in the gym, he’ll help you elevate and optimise your training with his sharp technique knowledge. Strong For Life combines a supportive and welcoming environment with a serious strength-focused training culture - a combination that no other gym in the area has.
Just starting my fifth week with Strong for Life and I’m loving it! The vibe is so much better than a regular gym. Personal training is spot on, tailored to me, and I’m getting loads of support. Wish I’d started this sooner! Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to add strength training into their routine. Sam is a great coach and the success of the gym is testament to his approach and the overall culture at Strong for Life.
If you're looking for strength coaching in Hull you can't go wrong with Sam. Very approachable, friendly and and gives great feedback. I worked with Sam initially because I was interested in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting but I've also had feedback on a variety of other lifts, classic powerlifting and just general strength training. You won't regret working with Sam. Great guy and he's set up a great facility that's tucked away. Fantastic setup.
After seeing a friend was seeing Sam Young for 1-2-1 personal training in Hull, I decided to get in touch with him. I had been having a reoccurring issue with spraining my ankle and an issue with my back and felt like I was getting nowhere with my owns attempts at improving my fitness. I felt like I needed someone who knew exactly what I needed to do to progress, after the first meeting with Sam it was obvious that he was the person that could help me. I began strength training nearly 7 months ago and haven’t looked back. The progress I have made is incredible. Not only weight loss but the muscle and strength I have built which has also had a massive impact on my running ability, I am running faster and finding it much easier. Sam has provided me his expertise and guidance from the very start to enable me to make these changes. I have gone from not being able to lift a 15kg bar from the rack to doing 52kg deadlifts and increasing weights week on week. I have also had a big increase in my confidence and the way I look. The gym is friendly and welcoming with 24 hour access which makes it perfect to fit in around a busy life. The other members are supportive and it is always a pleasure to go, I sometimes even have the gym to myself! I wish I had discovered Strong For Life sooner but the main thing is that I have and I am excited to see what the next 6 months and beyond will bring for me. I am someone who has previously only had experience with weights doing the Les Mills Body Pump classes so if I can do it so can you and I would encourage you to arrange to meet Sam asap, you won’t regret it!
I had a shoulder injury for a while, the pain gradually got worse and kept me from going to the gym or doing other physical activities, to the point that even getting a glass from the cupboard or opening the car door was painful; hence, my right arm's mobility became severely limited. By this point, the specialist told me I needed to rebuild the strength in my shoulder; otherwise, the next step would be an operation. This is when I met Sam at Strong For Life, who coached me on a 1-to-1 session in every aspect of my recovery, not just building strength, but also becoming aware of the intake in my diet, as well as overcoming the mental block and fear that any exercise involving the shoulder was going to hurt! The whole process was a learning experience and, by far, an educational journey in weightlifting techniques. I am delighted to share that after suffering pain for almost 2 years, in a term of 6 months, Sam helped me to regain the whole movement of my arm. I am pain-free, I continue to lift weights, and I have finally been discharged! The regain of my mental and physical strength would not have been possible without the support, guidance and knowledge from Sam.
