Hull Care Home Launches Art Classes to Support Residents with Dementia

A care home in Hull has launched a series of art classes aimed at residents living with dementia, providing them with a creative outlet while helping to build their confidence and painting skills. These sessions, held at Elm Tree Court, have quickly become a beloved part of the weekly routine for many residents.

The initiative began during Dementia Action Week, a campaign organised by the Alzheimer’s Society to raise awareness about dementia and encourage people to seek support and advice. Residents have been creating beautiful coastal scenes, starting with the background of their paintings. As they progress, they return to previous sessions to practice the same techniques and add new elements to their artwork.
