Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 2002. The band consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O’Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals). Their music has been described as a mix of indie rock, post-punk revival, and garage rock. The band’s connection to Yorkshire is evident in their lyrics, which often reference the region and its culture. For example, their hit song “Mardy Bum” features the Yorkshire slang term “mardy,” which means moody or sulky.
